Robbers stole a total of $12M from banks in 2008, of which only $2M was recovered.  Most of these robberies occur on Tuesday or Thursday mornings between 9 and 11am. Lots of data here. The number one modus operandi? Demand notes were used in more than half.

Georgia Bank Robberies on the Rise →
Georgia. Florida. California. All of these states are leading bank robber states.  In the past decade, traditional-style bank robbery, in which an armed robber enters a bank to commit a “stick up,” has been in decline. Offsetting this decline has been a surge in “note jobs.” Add in a little economic pressure and it multiplies.
