Here is the latest FBI Bank Crime Statistics report. Friday was the most popular day for robbing a bank in the U.S. And regardless of the day of the week, violations between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. were the most common.
Overall, in the U.S., 5,943 robberies were reported to the FBI, and more than $45.9 million in cash was taken. Over half used demand notes.

Increasingly, grocery banks (i.e. banks inside of supermarkets) have increasingly become the target of robbers. Police believe grocery bank robbers like to blend in the crowded environment of the store, which typically has multiple exits. That contrasts the quiet, formal environment of a standalone bank, which usually has one entrance.
