1886 Professional Criminals of America

This is an amazing book first printed in 1886. A compendium of thieves, pickpockets and burglars. It was written by the New York Chief of Police, Thomas Byrnes, and he writes each description like he’s writing a novel. Best of all, each one is accompanied by a mugshot. Recommended for historians and lovers of crime stories.
